A Nigerian man, Daniel Olowookere, has been sentenced to six years in prison in the United Kingdom after pleading guilty to raping two girls under the age of 12.

According to Sahara reporters, the conviction was disclosed on Tuesday by Nigerian Community UK in a post on X.

Olowookere, a resident of Blackley, appeared before Manchester Crown Court, where he initially denied the allegations before changing his plea to guilty.

Witnesses reportedly described him as showing “zero remorse” during sentencing, alleging that he shook his head as the judge delivered the verdict.

His defence team reportedly raised his Nigerian cultural background as a mitigating factor.

However, the judge maintained that no cultural considerations could justify the sexual abuse of children.

Investigators also warned that additional victims might exist and urged anyone with relevant information to contact authorities.

The case has raised concerns about child protection, with investigators seeking further information that could assist ongoing inquiries into possible additional offences involving other victims.
