VIDEO: I’m tired of people attacking Muslims over their religion — Bill Clinton
Former United States President Bill Clinton has condemned discrimination against Muslims, expressing frustration over religious intolerance and divisions within American society.
According to a video of his remarks, Clinton criticised political rhetoric targeting Muslims, urging greater understanding and respect among different religious communities.
“I’m tired of people denigrating Muslims for being Muslims,” Clinton said.
He recalled how his daughter, Chelsea, introduced him to a Quranic teaching after reading the holy book at 15.
“Allah put the different people on the earth not that they might despise one another, but that they might come to know one another and learn from one another.”
Clinton acknowledged that wrongdoing exists across religious communities, stressing that individuals should not be condemned solely because of their faith.
“There are bad actors in every faith because we’re all flawed human beings,” he said.
“But the religious wars, the culture wars, I’m just tired.”
His remarks followed criticism of divisive political rhetoric.
