Meghan reveals she received disturbing information about her father eight years ago
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has revealed that she was informed about disturbing allegations against her estranged father, Thomas Markle, in 2018.
According to BBC News, Meghan’s disclosure follows reports that images depicting child sexual abuse were allegedly discovered at her father’s former residence in the Philippines.
Thomas Markle, 82, has denied possessing the images.
“I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed,” Meghan said.
She explained that allegations contained in a letter sent to London’s Metropolitan Police in 2018 were subsequently shared with her.
Meghan said she had received assurances that authorities were investigating the claims, adding that she kept her father away from her children for their protection.
Philippine authorities confirmed an ongoing investigation, with police examining Markle’s computer for potential evidence.
Her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, reportedly discovered the alleged material and alerted authorities.
