Bruno Fernandes is reportedly set to return to Manchester United’s starting line-up for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Chelsea after manager Michael Carrick moved towards resolving their recent disagreement.

According to GOAL.com, citing The Mirror, the Portuguese midfielder could feature again after being left out of the squad for United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth following comments he made after the Como match.

The report added that United officials, including Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox, have decided to give Carrick more time to improve the team’s fortunes, a development that could also ease tensions surrounding Fernandes.

According to The Athletic, the atmosphere at Carrington is shifting towards reconciliation, increasing the possibility of the captain’s return.

Carrick previously explained his decision to omit the midfielder, saying: “He is ready and available, but we decided to choose the line-up we played with today. Unfortunately, we were unable to achieve the desired result.”

Manchester United head into the Chelsea fixture under pressure, sitting 16th with seven points after eight matches, having recorded one win, four draws and three defeats.
