TUC president is an absentee labour leader — NLC President,Joe Ajaero blows hot
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero has accused Trade Union Congress (TUC) President Festus Osifo of residing in the United States while claiming to represent Nigerian workers.
According to Daily Post, Ajaero made the allegation on Monday during Channels Television’s The Morning Brief programme.
He questioned Osifo’s ability to understand workers’ financial challenges while allegedly living abroad.
“How can you lead workers you don’t live with? How can you negotiate for people whose suffering you don’t feel? He has abandoned workers,” Ajaero added.
The disagreement follows TUC’s rejection of the Federal Government’s ₦70,000 monthly transport allowance, which the NLC supported.
Osifo had insisted that workers deserved permanent salary increases instead of temporary financial support.
Ajaero’s allegation about Osifo’s residence remains unverified.
