Dino Melaye challenges Tinubu to Quranic citation contest
Former Kogi West Senator and African Democratic Congress chieftain Dino Melaye has challenged President Bola Tinubu to a Quranic citation contest, Vanguard reports.
Melaye issued the challenge in a post on his X handle on Monday. The President is in Saudi Arabia for Umrah, the lesser Hajj.
“Immediately he comes back I challenge him to a Quanic citation competition with me,” he wrote.
The challenge follows public attention on Tinubu’s spiritual activities in Makkah. He performed the Umrah on Friday, and Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud granted him the rare privilege of praying inside the Holy Ka’abah.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu offered prayers of gratitude and sought divine guidance for Nigeria. He also cited Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26, on Allah’s authority over power and sovereignty.
The President travelled with a delegation that included ministers, governors of six northern states, officials and business leaders.
