Three allegedly homeless men were shot dead while sleeping at the Post Office Bus Stop on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday morning, according to SaharaReporters.

About 10 homeless people were reportedly sleeping at the bus stop when two men on power bikes arrived and attacked them. A police source told PUNCH that a concerned citizen reported the incident, prompting an anti-crime patrol team to visit the scene.

“We received a report that three men were found lying lifeless at the Post Office bus stop,” the source said.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the two assailants, each carrying a white box, parking across the road, checking the faces of the sleepers, speaking to some of them and opening fire. They also allegedly inflicted machete wounds. One victim reportedly pleaded to be spared before he was shot.

Lagos Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi confirmed the incident, saying the bodies were taken to Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy. Investigations are ongoing to identify the victims, locate their families and track down the attackers. The motive remains unclear, and no arrests have been announced.
