Toluwanisings’ wife, father, others sign peace pact over burial row
Oyo police say Toluwanisings’ wife, father and associates have signed a peace undertaking and agreed to stop public exchanges over his burial.
The Oyo State Police Command has brokered peace between the family and associates of late gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, over disagreements about his burial arrangements, Punch reports.
The parties signed a peace undertaking on Tuesday at the command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, after being invited by the Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga.
Those who signed included the singer’s wife, Olayemi Elizabeth Damilola, his father, Muniru Olayemi, and his associates.
The dispute centred on where he should be buried. His father had reportedly proposed the house he built or beside his late mother in Osun State, while his wife was said to oppose burying him at their home.
Under the undertaking, the parties agreed to “maintain peace and be of good behaviour” and to stop public exchanges and publications on the matter. Police warned that anyone whose actions amounted to an offence would be arrested and prosecuted.
Toluwanisings died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026.
