President Bola Tinubu has urged voters in Rivers State to back his 2027 re-election bid, promising a new era of economic prosperity, TheCable reported.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt.
“Today again, I return here to say thank you. And seek your support for the second term. I’m seeking that support because you believe in me. You believe that I care for you,” he said.
He said 27 of the 36 states could not pay salaries when he took office in May 2023, but his administration had reversed the situation.
Tinubu also questioned how former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar built a university while in office, asking: “Who built the university for him?”
He praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as a development partner and commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for maintaining peace in Rivers.
“This election is about you. It’s not about me. Your future depends on this election,” he told young voters.
