Liam Delap haunts former club as Nottingham Forest end home drought against Man City
Nottingham Forest secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Manchester City at the City Ground on Saturday, November 7, with Liam Delap scoring twice to end the visitors’ hopes of stopping their Premier League losing streak.
According to The Independent, Forest took control early through Jair Cunha, who capitalised on Josko Gvardiol’s mistake to open the scoring in the sixth minute. Delap doubled the advantage in the 19th minute, finishing emphatically after intercepting a loose ball in midfield.
Rayan Cherki briefly revived City’s hopes with a powerful 52nd-minute finish, but Delap restored Forest’s two-goal cushion in the 73rd minute after combining with Morgan Gibbs-White on a counterattack.
The result ended Forest’s five-game winless run and delivered their first league victory at home since April. For City, it marked a third consecutive Premier League defeat, leaving them six points behind leaders Arsenal and raising further questions about their faltering campaign.
