Trump offers Dana White the job of White House press secretary
US President Donald Trump has asked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) boss Dana White to be White House press secretary, BBC reports. “Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Dana, please take the job!” Trump called White “a violent Fighter and Warrior” and asked him to bring several high-profile UFC fighters. “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left,” he wrote.
The vacancy has been open since mid-October, when Katie Zacharia left after just a few days in the role. Trump’s post comes after Republican losses in the US midterm elections, where the party lost its congressional majorities. White is a longtime ally and friend of Trump and has been a speaker at Republican National Conventions in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Famously combative, White has at times clashed with journalists at news conferences. The BBC has asked the White House and TKO Holdings, the parent company of UFC, for comment.
