Arsenal moved level on 21 points with Premier League leaders Manchester City after beating Everton 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Ezri Konsa opened the scoring in the seventh minute, ending the Gunners’ wait for their first set-piece goal of the season, before Gabriel secured the victory with a powerful header in the second half.

Viktor Gyokeres justified his selection with an improved all-round display, while Arsenal’s defence remained largely solid despite a costly-looking error from Ben White. Gabriel was the standout performer, combining defensive authority with a decisive contribution in attack.

Arsenal player ratings

David Raya – 7/10: Distributed the ball effectively and made an important save to deny Thierno Barry. A brief lapse nearly proved costly, but he secured another clean sheet.

Ben White – 7/10: Offered attacking support and delivered an excellent cross for Gabriel’s goal. His weak back pass nearly allowed Everton to equalise before Raya rescued him.

Ezri Konsa – 8/10: Broke Arsenal’s set-piece drought by converting at the far post. Defensively assured, he used his pace and strength to prevent Everton from exploiting spaces behind.

Gabriel – 9/10: Dominated Everton’s forwards physically and capped an outstanding performance with a powerful header. His defensive authority and goal on his 200th Premier League appearance made him Arsenal’s standout player.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 8/10: Showed composure under pressure, won his first-half duels and helped Arsenal progress the ball through Everton’s press. An impressive display in place of Riccardo Calafiori.

Declan Rice – 7/10: Delivered dangerous set pieces and created four chances, the most by any player on the pitch. His understanding with Martin Odegaard helped Arsenal maintain their attacking rhythm.

Mikel Merino – 6/10: Threatened from midfield with a decent effort and a headed chance before half-time. However, his tendency to dwell on possession occasionally slowed Arsenal’s forward momentum.

Noni Madueke – 7/10: Troubled Vitaliy Mykolenko with his direct running and sharp footwork. He went close on two occasions and remained dangerous when switching flanks.

Martin Odegaard – 8/10: Orchestrated Arsenal’s attacking moves with clever combinations, flicks and one-twos. His creativity brought fluency to the hosts’ play, although he occasionally passed when shooting was an option.

Eberechi Eze – 6/10: Looked lively in the first half, evading challenges and threatening when cutting inside. His influence diminished after the break, while his defensive tracking needed improvement.

Viktor Gyokeres – 7/10: Made his first league start of the season count with improved hold-up play and intelligent link-up work. He assisted Konsa’s opener and created three chances despite failing to score.
