Oscar Bobb strikes late as Fulham beat Coventry to ease relegation fears
Fulham climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Coventry City at the CBS Arena on Saturday. According to The Independent, Oscar Bobb scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute, cutting inside before curling a superb finish into the far corner for his first Premier League goal for Fulham.
The Norwegian’s strike secured Fulham’s first away victory in nine attempts, easing pressure on manager Alvaro Arbeloa after last weekend’s 1-0 win over Hull City ended their winless start to the league campaign. Josh King came close to opening the scoring for the visitors in the 18th minute, but his powerful effort struck the crossbar before Alex Iwobi wasted the rebound.
Coventry struggled to create clear-cut opportunities despite several promising spells and suffered another setback when defender Bobby Thomas was forced off through injury shortly before the hour mark. Frank Lampard’s side pushed for an equaliser late on, but Fulham held firm to claim three valuable points, leaving Coventry second-bottom of the table.
