Canada reveals who can skip the citizenship test — and who can apply for a waiver
Canada has confirmed that only two categories of applicants are automatically exempt from the citizenship test and language requirements: those who applied before turning 18, and those aged 55 or older.
Adults aged 18–54 must generally pass the test and prove English or French proficiency, though waivers on compassionate grounds are available for serious illness, disability, trauma, or low literacy, according to Legit.ng.
