Davido free to visit, says Edo state government

The Edo State Government has said Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is free to visit the state, dismissing reports that he had been banned.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kassim Afegbua, made the clarification in a statement on Friday, Vanguard reports

Afegbua described the alleged ban as false and said the government would welcome Davido if he intended to visit or perform in Edo.

He said the singer was one of the state’s illustrious sons because his mother hailed from Edo, adding that the government was pleased with his achievements and hoped he would win a Grammy Award.
