Dortmund teenager Konstantinos Karetsas was taken to hospital after suffering a circulation problem during Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League clash with Villarreal on Tuesday. According to Associated Press, the 18-year-old Greece international collapsed 25 minutes into his Champions League debut after passing the ball to a teammate and alerting the referee that he was in distress.

Karetsas received treatment on the pitch before being carried away on a stretcher for further medical assessment. Dortmund later confirmed that the midfielder was doing well under the circumstances but required hospital tests. The incident occurred with the score still goalless.
