Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Maresca expressed complete confidence in the club’s ownership and leadership, predicting City would win their appeal against the verdict.

The Italian, who has won his first five league matches in charge, said his focus remained on football ahead of Sunday’s trip to Liverpool. City were found guilty of breaches relating to financial regulations between 2009 and 2018, including misleading accounts and undisclosed funding allegations.

The club has challenged the ruling, arguing that the commission made significant errors. Maresca acknowledged the hostile atmosphere expected at Anfield but insisted his players would concentrate on securing victory.
