FG launches N365m national laureate award, names medical prize after Stella Adadevoh

The federal government has launched a national laureate award with an annual prize pool of ₦365 million to reward outstanding academic research across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, according to TheCable.

Education Minister Tunji Alausa said the medical innovation category is named the Dr. Stella Adadevoh Prize, honouring the physician whose actions helped contain Nigeria’s 2014 Ebola outbreak. The award, under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, will be jointly implemented by the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank and the education ministry.

Categories include undergraduate dissertations, master’s and doctoral theses, alongside special prizes in engineering, medicine, arts and agriculture.
