Florida man, 91, charged with murdering wife to keep ‘promise’ against nursing home
A 91-year-old Florida man, William Lippold, has been charged with first-degree murder after fatally shooting his wife, who was blind and had severe Alzheimer’s disease.
According to Breitbart, Lippold, her sole caretaker, told St. Johns County deputies he had promised his wife he would never place her in a nursing home and viewed the act as keeping that promise. He reportedly attempted suicide afterward.
Lippold allegedly told his son, “I did something bad,” before confessing to shooting her at their St. Augustine home.
