How Warri lawyer, wife sold baby declared ‘dead’ at birth
A lawyer, Solomon Igbiaye, his wife, Abigail, and an alleged accomplice, Mary, have been arrested in Warri, Delta State, over the alleged sale of a newborn reportedly declared dead after delivery in 2023.
According to THE WHISTLER, the child’s mother raised the alarm after discovering evidence suggesting her daughter was alive. Police reportedly rescued the baby following the arrests and transferred the suspects to the Effurun Area Command for investigation.
The mother was allegedly told the baby had died after a Caesarean delivery, while a housemaid later reportedly provided a photograph of the child. Police have yet to officially confirm the case.
