ICPC clears Gbajabiamila over fake agency scandal

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has cleared Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila of any link to Adeniyi Adeyemi’s appointment as head of the fake Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council.

According to Premium Times Nigeria, the ICPC found Adeyemi personally forged his appointment letter and fabricated signatures attributed to Gbajabiamila and a non-existent State House official. Forensic examination linked the forgeries directly to Adeyemi.

The commission also cited widespread verification failures across federal institutions that allowed the fake agency to secure offices and bank accounts. It recommended Adeyemi’s prosecution for forgery and impersonation.
