‘I’m ready to die’: Peter Obi vows to protect his votes at all costs in 2027 election

NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has declared he is prepared to die protecting his votes in the 2027 general election, issuing his most forceful warning yet to those plotting to manipulate the electoral process, during a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

“This time all of us will rescue our country. Somebody said, ‘We are ready to die.’ Let me tell you, I’m ready to die too,” Obi told supporters at the event tagged “Obi Talks Nigeria.”

According to Daily Trust, the former Anambra governor referenced the controversial 2023 INEC IReV failure, promising technological countermeasures. “There will be so many IReVs this time. If there is a network glitch, we will give them another one that has no glitch,” he said.

NDC Vice Presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso warned that controlling 30 governors would not guarantee APC’s 2027 victory.
