Sokoto Police Inspector collapses, dies after weekly fitness Walkathon exercise

A police inspector attached to the Sokoto State Police Command, Adamu Isah, has died after collapsing shortly after participating in the command’s weekly Walkathon fitness exercise at the command headquarters on Wednesday.

According to Daily Trust, Command spokesperson DSP Ahmad Rufa’i confirmed in a statement on Thursday that Isah, who served in the Department of Operations, was immediately rushed to hospital after collapsing but was later confirmed dead by attending doctors.

Commissioner of Police Hayatu Hassan Shaffa described the deceased as “a dedicated and gallant policeman who served the country with commitment and professionalism,” adding that Isah was an active sportsman, volleyball team member and boxer within the command.

“The Sokoto State Police Command is deeply saddened by the sudden and painful loss of our colleague, Inspector Adamu Isah,” Shaffa said, extending condolences to the officer’s family and assuring them of the command’s support during the difficult period.
