Impeachment process against Ondo Speaker still on course – Assembly spokesperson
The impeachment process against the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, is still ongoing, the Assembly spokesperson, Olatunji Ifabiyi, has said.
According to PUNCH Newspapers, Ifabiyi dismissed reports that lawmakers had abandoned the move, saying there was “no going back” despite reconciliation efforts led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
However, Oladiji denied the existence of any impeachment process, saying the crisis had been resolved through the intervention of the governor and All Progressives Congress leaders.
The conflicting positions have left the political crisis unresolved, as both sides maintain opposing claims over the Speaker’s future in the Assembly.
