Iran executes alleged Israeli spy over missile information
Iran has executed Hossein Pedaran, a man convicted of providing Israeli intelligence agency Mossad with information about missile sites in Isfahan province, authorities announced Saturday.
According to Channels Television, Iran’s judiciary said Pedaran was convicted of espionage and intelligence collaboration with Israel, with his death sentence upheld by the Supreme Court.
Authorities did not disclose when Pedaran was arrested, tried or executed, and his case had not previously been reported publicly.
The execution comes amid intensified arrests and executions linked to the Middle East war and nationwide protests.
In August, Iran executed two men accused of transmitting coordinates of sensitive military and security sites to Israel.
Rights groups say Iran carries out the world’s second-highest number of executions after China. :::
