Lautaro Martinez claims Inter ‘did much more’ than Real Madrid despite Champions League defeat

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez believes his side deserved at least a point from their 2-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Speaking to Movistar+ in comments reported by Madrid Universal, the Argentine blamed two early mistakes for putting Inter behind but praised their response.

Real Madrid capitalised on defensive errors before Inter recovered and remained competitive until the final whistle. Martinez insisted the Italian side “did much more” than their opponents and left the stadium disappointed but encouraged by their performance.

He also highlighted Inter’s recent Champions League experience, with the club having reached two finals in the past four years. The captain believes continued improvement can help Inter mount another serious challenge for European glory.
