Mass defection hits Oyo as APM, PDP members join APC
Tens of members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State on Saturday, with the wave of defections beginning in Ward 9, according to a Peoples Gazette report via the News Agency of Nigeria.
The defectors were received at the Olomi headquarters of the PBAT-KO Grassroots Movement, founded by Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, former Oluyole council chairman. APC Oluyole Chairman Dotun Oladipupo commended Olaosebikan’s leadership despite losing the House of Representatives ticket.
APM Ward 9 leader Chief Adeolu Adesola thanked Olaosebikan for leading them “out of darkness and into the light.” Olaosebikan praised President Tinubu’s leadership, saying power should return to the North after his tenure, in the spirit of equity.
