NDLEA arrests 101-year-old great-grandmother for alleged cannabis dealing

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a 101-year-old woman, Esther Ogunmabo, for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs in Ogun State.

According to TheCable, NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi said the woman was arrested in Ilisan with 90 grammes of skunk, which she allegedly sold to locals after her provisions shop was destroyed by fire.

NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Marwa ordered her release on bail and counselling because of her age, while her daughter was arrested.

In separate operations, the agency intercepted 42.622kg of narcotics in Akwa Ibom and seized two containers of cannabis worth over N4.4bn at Apapa and Lekki ports.
