Newcastle agree deal for Man City Midfielder Nico Gonzalez

Newcastle United have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign midfielder Nico Gonzalez in a deal worth up to £50 million. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies have agreed to pay £47m upfront, with a further £3m available in add-ons. Gonzalez, 24, joined City from Porto in February 2025 but has struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter.

He has made 59 appearances for the Premier League side, scoring four goals, and is now expected to travel to Newcastle to complete the move. The transfer would strengthen Newcastle’s midfield after major departures this summer and give Gonzalez an opportunity for a more prominent role.
