Nigerian politics evil, I don’t want to be part of it – Davido
Afrobeats superstar Davido has declared he wants no further part in Nigerian politics, describing the country’s political system as “evil” days after playing a prominent role in supporting his uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke’s successful re-election bid in Osun State.
In a post on his X account, Davido pushed back against critics of his involvement, insisting his campaign support was purely family-driven. “I brought no one! No one defended me! I backed my family on my own!!” he wrote.
As reported by Tribune, Davido added: “I have done my job! Nigerian politics is evil AND I DON’T WANT TO BE A PART OF IT TILL GOD HELPS US!”
Adeleke won the August 15 governorship election with 511,067 votes against APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes — a victory celebrated as a major upset against the ruling party’s formidable machinery.
