White House ballroom becomes ‘military complex’…
President Donald Trump has shifted his justification for the controversial White House ballroom project, according to a report by The Washington Post, now calling it a “desperately needed National Security structure” rather than a VIP entertainment venue.
An appeals court ordered construction halted by August 21 unless Congress authorizes it. Trump argued the ballroom and underlying military complex are “one highly integrated unit,” while agency heads cited threats from Iran and drone attacks to justify the project. The National Trust for Historic Preservation, which sued to block construction, said courts have consistently ruled the ballroom must stop.
