NNPCL denies link to cannabis truck intercepted by NDLEA
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has denied ownership of a truck intercepted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with 2,145kg of cannabis concealed in a secret compartment in Ondo State, according to a report by Daily Post Nigeria.
NNPCL spokesperson Andy Odeh said the vehicle, bearing registration number MKA 960 XC, does not belong to the company and does not appear in its asset database, adding the logo displayed does not match its current official branding.
NNPCL said it is engaging the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners to investigate the unauthorized use of its old branding and warned it would pursue legal action against brand misuse linked to unlawful activity.
