NUPRC: Nigeria’s oil production rises 0.4% in August, holds OPEC quota
Nigeria produced 1,677,777 barrels of crude oil and condensate per day in August, marking a 0.4 percent increase from July, according to Channels Television.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) disclosed that in strict crude terms, excluding condensate, output stood at 1,500,190 barrels per day, allowing the country to meet its OPEC quota for a fourth consecutive month.
Bonny Terminal led production at 320.04kbpd, followed by Forcados at 317.40kbpd, with Qua Iboe, Escravos and Bonga rounding out the top five terminals.
The agency attributed the modest improvement largely to the resolution of Single Buoy Mooring challenges at the Erhafield asset, which had hampered output the previous month.
In a statement by spokesperson Eniola Akinkuotu, NUPRC said the industry remains focused on enhancing asset reliability and operational resilience, further stating that sustained collaboration among stakeholders would be key to improving Nigeria’s crude output in the months ahead.
