Oborevwori calls for intelligence-led approach to Nigeria’s security challenges
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has urged security agencies to adopt intelligence-led and preventive strategies to address Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
Oborevwori made the call Monday in Asaba during a visit by participants of the Defence Intelligence College’s Advanced Intelligence Officers’ Course 16/2026.
According to Vanguard, the governor, represented by Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, said Nigeria must shift from reactive security management to preventive governance.
He urged stronger collaboration and intelligence-sharing among security agencies, particularly against kidnapping, cultism, illegal bunkering and maritime insecurity, while highlighting Delta’s grassroots intelligence initiatives and joint security operations as models for effective prevention nationwide.
