Osun election: Davido’s father claims APC spent N60bn buying votes at N50,000 each
Deji Adeleke, businessman and father of Afrobeats star Davido, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress spent approximately N60 billion buying votes during the Osun State governorship election last Saturday — with some votes purchased at N50,000 each.
According to Daily Post, Adeleke said he responded to the vote-buying by retreating to pray that voters would collect the money but still vote for his brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke.
“I said, ‘God Almighty, let people collect their money but still vote for Ademola Adeleke,'” he said.
Governor Adeleke won the election with 511,067 votes, defeating APC’s Bola Oyebamiji who polled 444,815 votes. The APC has not responded to the allegations.
