Paul Scholes handed six-month driving ban after speeding offences

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has been banned from driving for six months after two separate motoring cases were heard in court. According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Scholes, 51, was caught driving at 37mph in a 30mph zone in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, in March. A Mercedes registered in his name was also recorded at 49mph in a 30mph area in Ashton-under-Lyne last November.

The speeding allegation in the second case was later dropped, but Scholes was prosecuted for failing to respond to police notices. He was convicted in his absence under the Single Justice Procedure and ordered to pay £1,472 in fines, costs and surcharges. Scholes previously won 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies with Manchester United.
