Pentagon reveals it has weapons in space…
U.S. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink has confirmed that the military has deployed weapons into orbit, marking the first public acknowledgment of such capability. According to The Washington Sun, Meink said at the Air & Space Forces Association’s annual conference that the U.S. now has “on-orbit space control weapons” able to defend against hostile actions, though he did not disclose their type, number, or capabilities.
The Space Force said space control involves both offensive and defensive operations, but declined to specify deployment timing or whether the weapons are kinetic. Officials have cited China and Russia as key threats driving the buildup. Meink also highlighted the Space-Based Interceptor program under Trump’s Golden Dome missile-defense initiative, still in development.
