Rodri reveals why he turned down Real Madrid for Barcelona

Rodri has revealed why he chose Barcelona over Real Madrid after both Spanish giants pursued his signature, according to Barca News Network. The Spain midfielder admitted it was a difficult decision after returning to his homeland following seven years at Manchester City.

Rodri said he based his choice on the sporting project, his desire to win and opportunities to develop as a player. He praised Real Madrid’s treatment but revealed that Barcelona sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick ultimately convinced him. The midfielder also insisted Real Madrid’s absence from his Ballon d’Or ceremony did not influence his decision, saying he remained focused on football.
