Sanwo-Olu: Sky won’t fall if APC loses election under Tinubu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the sky would not fall if the All Progressives Congress (APC) loses an election under President Bola Tinubu.

According to PM News Sanwo-Olu made the remarks on Thursday at the seventh annual lecture organised by Freedom Online at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. He cited the recent Osun governorship election, won by Governor Ademola Adeleke, as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to democracy. The governor described Tinubu as a “lifelong democrat,” saying the APC’s loss of a South-West state demonstrated that Nigeria’s democracy was maturing under his leadership.

Sanwo-Olu also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prepare adequately for the 2027 general elections. He warned politicians against resorting to violence and electoral malpractice ahead of the polls, stressing that a credible process remained essential to strengthening the country’s democratic gains.
