Schumer’s daughter joins OpenAI as Big Tech woos Democrats…
OpenAI has hired Jessica Schumer, daughter of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, for a top policy role handling government outreach in Northeastern states, according to a report by the New York Post, citing Axios.
Jessica Schumer, Amazon’s former top public-policy official in New York, previously served in the Obama White House and on Tim Kaine’s 2016 campaign staff. Her hiring comes as tech companies hedge bets ahead of midterms that could hand Democrats House control.
OpenAI also hired Republican-aligned Caulder Harvill-Childs for Southeast policy work. Meta has similarly donated millions to groups aligned with both parties, while companies brace for potential congressional investigations.
