South African court jails 22-year-old man 20 years for assaulting mother sexually
A 22-year-old South African man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping his biological mother at her home in Carnarvon, Northern Cape, according to Daily Post Nigeria. The Carnarvon Regional Court handed down the sentence after DNA evidence linked him to the November 2025 assault, prompting a guilty plea.
Prosecutors said the man assaulted his 42-year-old mother while she was unconscious after both had been drinking. She woke during the attack and confronted him before he fled. He was ordered to have his details placed on the National Register for Sex Offenders.
