Step-by-step guide: Applying for Nigeria’s driver’s licence online
Applying for a Nigerian driver’s licence has become easier, as motorists can now begin the process online before visiting a centre for biometric capture, according to Punch.
Applicants must first attend an FRSC-accredited driving school, then visit nigeriadriverslicence.org to submit personal details matching their NIN, book a biometric appointment, and pay via the Remita gateway. A temporary licence, valid for 60 days, is issued while the permanent one is processed.
Applicants are advised to make payments only through the official portal, avoiding transfers to unofficial agents, and to bring original documents to their scheduled biometric appointment.
