Tinubu may face criminal charges over alleged drug trafficking – US firm

Washington-based lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York has warned that Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu may face criminal charges in the United States after leaving office, citing responses from FBI and DEA headquarters that it says raise serious questions about whether an active law enforcement investigation or proceeding still exists against the Nigerian president.

According to Daily Post, the firm, retained by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, made the disclosure in a post on its verified X handle on Tuesday, while stressing that filings reviewed did not explicitly establish that the US government currently intends to charge Tinubu.

Tinubu has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to drug trafficking allegations that have followed him for decades.
