Trump calls court decision blocking ballroom construction a ‘national disgrace’
President Donald Trump has blasted an appeals court ruling requiring congressional approval for his White House ballroom project, calling the decision a “National Security Threat” and “National Disgrace.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump rejected the court’s assertion that presidents are temporary White House tenants, arguing that elected presidents have the right to “fix, renovate, secure, protect, and beautify” the complex.
The ruling ordered construction halted and requires Trump to seek congressional authorisation. Trump said much of the work had already been completed and paid for, while highlighting plans for a rooftop “DronePort” as part of the ballroom and military complex.
