Trump considering strikes on Houthis after American killed in Saudi airport attack
President Donald Trump has warned that the United States may join Saudi Arabia in retaliatory attacks against the Houthis after a deadly assault on Riyadh’s airport, the New York Post reports.
The Saturday attack on King Khalid International Airport killed 12 people, including one American, and injured over 300.
Asked on Saturday about joining the strikes, Trump told reporters: “We may. We’re going to look at it.” He added: “We just found out about the recent attack, so we’ll make a decision. We move very quickly.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned the attack, saying: “These reprehensible attacks demonstrate a blatant disregard for innocent civilian life. They must stop now.”
A Houthi spokesperson warned that airports have become “a theatre of operations for our forces.”
Saudi Arabia has reportedly launched two airstrikes on Sanaa, the Houthis claimed.
