Trump: If you’re tired of me, I’ll go run Israel
President Donald Trump has said he would move to Israel and become its prime minister if Americans ever grew tired of him, TMZ reports.
Trump, who made the remark in jest during an Election Day appearance on Fox News on Tuesday, claimed he had a 99 per cent approval rating in Israel.
“In fact, if people ever got tired of me in the U.S., I’ll move to Israel, become prime minister,” Trump said.
He said he had the “highest approval rating of anybody in history” in Israel but did not provide any polling evidence to back it up.
TMZ put his approval rating at home at 32 per cent.
Trump made the comment while praising Israel as a great partner and discussing his administration’s actions against Iran.
He also announced the US would stop providing $4 billion in yearly aid to Israel in 2027.
Trump made a similar joke in May, when he also claimed 99 per cent support in Israel.
