Trump rejects AI “pause”…
President Donald Trump has rejected calls to pause artificial intelligence development, even as former President Barack Obama urged Democrats to push for regulation, according to a report by ZeroHedge.
Speaking from the Irish Open in Doonbeg on Sunday, Trump dismissed appeals from AI executives Dario Amodei, Sam Altman and Elon Musk to slow development, insisting the US was leading China and that “whoever wins AI, wins.” Obama, in remarks from a Thursday fundraiser, urged House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to make AI a governing issue, warning the technology was “moving very fast in private hands.”
House Minority Leader Jeffries backed Obama’s call, saying Republicans had “abdicated their responsibility” on AI regulation.
