UNN sued over Peter Obi’s academic records

Labour Party chieftain, Abayomi Arabambi, has sued the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), over its alleged refusal to release the academic records of Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Gazette reports.

In a suit filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Arabambi is seeking an order compelling the university and its vice-chancellor to respond to his Freedom of Information request for a certified true copy of certificate No. D000198, allegedly issued to Obi for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1984.

Arabambi said he requested the records on July 16, 2026, but alleged that UNN failed to respond within the period prescribed by law.
