Why I have no interest in running for political office — Davido

Afrobeats star Davido has ruled out running for political office, citing flaws in Nigeria’s electoral system, political stress and the possibility of electoral manipulation.

According to PUNCH, Davido said his involvement in the Osun governorship election should not be interpreted as preparation for a political career.

The singer said he remains comfortable focusing on music despite his political advocacy.

Davido also rejected pressure to support any presidential candidate in 2027, saying his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, may make political decisions based on Osun’s interests, but those choices would not determine his personal position.
