Why vote for Tinubu who is ‘almost 90 and sick’? Atiku asks
African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has defended his age and fitness for office, pointing to a clean bill of health while questioning why Nigerians voted for President Bola Tinubu — whom he described as “almost 90 years old and not in good health” — in 2023.
Speaking to journalists at his Asokoro residence in Abuja, as reported by Peoples Gazette, Atiku said: “No doctor has ever said that I’m unhealthy. I have been in Germany, England and Dubai. I do not even have diabetes.”
The former vice president pushed back against calls for younger candidates, noting that ADC has more youth participation than other parties and that he has mentored several young Nigerians now serving as governors and ministers.
“Why did they choose Tinubu, who is almost 90 years old and is not in good health?” Atiku asked.
